About Me

so you want to know a little or a lot about me, ok well my name is Ian Dermondy (big ian) as most call me.

i am 44 years old and live in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. although born a Londoner. i am much more at home in yorkshire and enjoy life here very much.

i am a freelance photographer working mainly with nature and animals although i do work with people as well. some of my work can be seen on the page marked photos above.

i am also a ham, the name given to someone who is a amateur radio operator. having passed my licence in July 2009 and use the call M6DER. i have special interest in data modes like sttv and rtty. but can be found on the digital D-star as well most the time working though GB7YD-C

i am also involved with the local search and rescue group www.yalsar.co.uk where i am the communications manager

so that’s me hope i havent put you all off reading my blogs or looking at my photo work
